Will the color I see on the screen match the product I will receive?

Colors will vary from what you see online as a result of your monitor, monitor settings, and color on image. The colors that Pipemarker.com uses are listed below. We also use PMS® colors corresponding to the Pantone® Matching System when printing our products. If a material/color sample is required, we can provide you with one; contact customer service toll free at 855-444-9477 Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern to request one.

Are the colors used on pipemarker.com products compliant with any standard?

Yes, our products are in compliance with the following standards:

Fire Quenching Fluids

This classification includes water, foam and CO2 used in sprinkler systems and fire fighting piping systems.

This classification includes fluids that are corrosive or toxic, or will produce corrosive or toxic substances when released.

Flammable & *Oxidizing Fluids

Flammable: This classification includes fluids, which, under ambient or expected operating conditions, are a vapor or produce vapors that can be ignited and continue to burn in air.
* Oxidizing: Oxidizing fluid is any gas or liquid that may, generally by providing oxygen, cause or contribute to the combustion of other material more than air does.

Pressure Sensitive Vinyls

  • .004" thick flexible vinyl with a heavy coat of aggressive permanent acrylic adhesive.
  • Image is screen printed using UV resistant inks
  • Service temperature -20°F (-29°C) to 200°F (93°C)
  • Printed image will resist fading and most chemicals.
  • Outdoor durability is typically 4 to 5 years Mid Continental US
  • Available vinyl colors: White, Safety Yellow, Safety Blue, Safety Red, Safety Green, Safety Orange, Safety Brown, etc.
  • Products using it: EZ Pipe Markers™, Ammonia EZ Markers, Duct Markers, Medical Gas Markers, System #2 Pipe Markers™, System #3 Pipe Markers™, Markers for Small Pipes, Natural Gas Markers.

Rigid Vinyls (PVC)

  • .015 & .025 thick rigid vinyl, most commonly used for System #1 Pipe Markers™
  • Finish is a smooth glossy surface
  • Service temperature -40°F to 160°F (-40° C to 71°C)
  • Image is screen printed using UV resistant inks.
  • Outdoor durability is typically 4 to 5 years Mid-Continental US
  • Product using it: System #1 Pipe Markers™

Pressure Sensitive Polyester with Clear Laminate

  • .002" thick Polyester film will not shrink and is more heat and chemical resistant than vinyl, supplied with a heavy coat of aggressive permanent acrylic adhesive. With a .002" thick clear polyester film laminate to protect the printed image from abrasion and harsh chemicals and also to extend the outdoor durability.
  • Service temperature -40° F to 248° F (-40° to 120°C)
  • Image is screen printed using UV resistant inks.
  • Outdoor durability is typically 5 to 8 years Mid-Continental US.
  • This material configuration is used on heat resistant markers, and all materials are UL® recognized.
  • Products using it: System #5 - High Temp Stick On Labels, System #4 Pipe Markers™ & Ammonia System #4 Pipe Markers™

Engraved and Laser Etched Materials

Engraved Plastic (Briply™)

Brimar manufactures a quality engraved plastic nameplate with many popular options. The nameplates offered here are available in 1/16" thick 2-Ply and 1/8" thick 3-Ply plastic, with adhesive backing or mounting holes, beveled edges and 1 side engraving. Many other options are available please call for pricing.


Material Specs:

Low glare resistant satin finish.
Thickness 1/16" 2-Ply or 1/8" 3-Ply.
Available in 6 standard colors: Black/White, White/Black, Yellow/Black, Green/White, Red/White, Blue/White, Green/Yellow.
Nameplate corners are typically provided square.

Engraved Phenolic Plastic

Phenolic material is a rigid thermoset material which is electrically non-conductive. Brimar's phenolic material conforms to military standard LP-387A TYPE N.D.P., LP-509. The nameplates featured here are 1/16" thick with adhesive backing or mounting holes, square edges, and one side engraving. Many more options are available, please call for pricing


Material Specs:

Typically used when specified compliance with Mil Spec LP 387A is required.
Low glare scratch resistant velvet finish.
Available in 6 standard colors: Black/White, White/Black, Yellow/Black, Green/White, Red/White, Blue/White.
Thickness 1/16" 3-ply.
Nameplate corners are typically provided square and edges flat.
This material is Not Recommended For Outdoor Use.


Laser Etched .032" Anodized Aluminum

Brimar engraves .032 anodized aluminum for a neat, sharp contrast of wording against background color. Ideal for control panels, mechanical equipment, tools, and office equipment. There is no color fill for these plates, the character color is natural and contrasts with the surface color.


Material Specs:

Low glare scratch resistant satin finish.
Available in 6 standard colors: Black/Natural, Gold/Natural, Red/Natural, Green/Natural, Blue/Natural, Natural/Natural.
Nameplate corners are typically provided square and edges flat.
Outdoor durability is typically 2 to 3 years.
